The Corporations Division registers a number of business-related entities in the state of Washington, including domestic and foreign (out-of-state) corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, and limited liability companies. The Corporations Division also registers state-level trademarks, international student exchange programs, ad immigration assistants, and accepts service of process on corporations failing to maintain a registered agent or registered office address and on out-of-state residents involved in accidents on Washington highways.

The Corporations Division maintains records and information regarding registered entities for use by financial and legal services, law enforcement agencies, news media, the IRS, and the general public. The Corporations Division is also responsible for registering domestic partnerships as defined in Chapter 156, Laws of 2007.
