The Corporations Division registers a number of business-related entities in the state of Washington, including Washington and foreign (out-of-state) corporations, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies. The Division also registers state-level trademarks, international student exchange programs, and accepts service of process on corporations failing to maintain a registered agent and on out-of-state residents involved in accidents on Washington highways. Records maintained by the Division are used by financial and legal services, law enforcement agencies, news media, the IRS, and the general public.
